Why order take-away when you can enjoy these loaded hamburgers at home?


  • 600g Beef Mince
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped oregano
  • 4 jumbo lunch rolls, split, chargrilled
  • lettuce leaves, to serve
  • sliced tomato, to serve
  • sliced cucumber, to serve
  • sliced red onion, to serve
Chipotle Chilli Mayonnaise
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 75g sour cream
  • 1/4 cup chipotle salsa
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tbsp chopped coriander

  1. Combine mince, onion, garlic, 1 tbsp oil, sauce, and oregano in a bowl. Mix together using clean hands. Divide into four portions and shape into patties 11cm in diameter. Make a dent in the centre with your thumb (this helps to prevent them from shrinking during cooking). Stack patties, separating them with baking paper, and chill for 15 minutes.
  2. Heat a frying pan or barbecue on medium-high heat. Brush sides of patties with oil and cook for 5 minutes each side or until cooked through.
  3. Fill rolls with lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and onion. Top with a patty, extra cucumber or onion, if desired, and serve with chipotle chilli mayo.
Chipotle Chilli Mayonnaise
  1. To make mayonnaise, whisk all ingredients together in a large bowl until smooth. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
