Preheat the oven to 180°C Fan forced, and line a baking tray with baking paper.
Melt the butter and golden syrup in a saucepan on low heat, then remove from the heat. Let it cool. Then sift in the icing sugar, flour, and baking powder. Mix a little then stir in the chocolate chips.
Take tablespoons of the dough and roll into balls. Place in rows on the baking tray. Flattening with a fork.
Bake for 20-25 minutes until the cookies are just starting to brown on the edges.
Garnish with sea salt flakes to accentuate the chocolaty flavour!
