Decadent Brownie with Chocolate Malt Sauce
This decadent brownie with chocolate malt sauce will satisfy every chocolate craving.
Ingredients
- 1 cup dark choc bits
- 1/2 cup plain flour
- vanilla ice cream (to serve)
- 150g unsalted butter, chopped
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup malt drink powder
- 100g dark chocolate, chopped
- 100g dark chocolate, chopped
- 150g milk chocolate, chopped
- 200g milk chocolate, chopped
- 1 1/2 cup pure cream
- 2 tbs cocoa
- 3 eggs, whisked
- 1 cup brown sugar
Method
- Melt butter and both chocolates together in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir constantly until smooth. Remove from heat and cool for 10 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 180°C. Lightly grease a 28cm heavy (cast iron) ovenproof frying pan. Stir sugar into chocolate mixture. Gradually whisk in egg and vanilla until smooth and combined. Sift flour and cocoa over mixture and fold in along with choc bits.
- Pour mixture into the prepared frying pan. Bake for 30 minutes or until set. Cool for 10 minutes before serving.
- Meanwhile to prepare sauce, combine chocolates in a bowl. Heat cream and malt powder in a small saucepan over medium heat until just starting to boil. Pour over chocolate and stand for 2 minutes. Stir well until smooth. Keep warm.
- Top brownie with scoops of ice-cream and drizzle with sauce, to serve.
